Local 721 – EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE
CONSTRUIRE en santé is the MÉDIC Construction program for health promotion and management. It aims to improve the health of insureds and their dependents while reducing the costs of the insurance plan. Its approach favours changes in life habits if these habits are linked to mental or physical health or the consumption of medications.
A front-line service enables MÉDIC Construction insureds and their dependents to contact a nurse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1 800 807-2433. This nurse evaluates the situation and directs the insured to the resources that may help him or her.
CONSTRUIRE en santé gives confidential access to professional services for:
- Assistance services for resolving family, psychological, and other problems and offering remedial instruction and occupational therapy services
- Physical health services for adoption of healthy life habits (quitting smoking, weight loss, etc.) or to face diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure
- Treatment for alcoholism, drug addiction, compulsive gambling, major depression, and violent behaviour
- Post-traumatic interventions (witness to an accident, etc.)
- Preoperative and postoperative, pre-hospitalization and post-hospitalization interventions (evaluation of need, coordinating the treatments required, etc.)
Specific conditions, limitations, and exclusions other than those mentioned above may apply to some types of coverage; only the Règlement sur les régimes complémentaires d’avantages sociaux dans l’industrie de la construction has legal value. The clauses that apply are those in force at the time of the event.
